T-Shirt Quilts
Do you have t-shirts from high school or college? How about a t-shirt collection from rock concerts, auto shows, or marathons? Have Terri make a quilt, wall hanging or pillow from your favorite t-shirts that you have been saving for something! You can also have one made for a friend or relative's graduation gift, wedding, birthday or any type of celebration.
My daughter was in sports from age 12 through college and boy did she go through the shirts! She got one for every tournament, workshop, etc that she participated in. I wish I had saved them all - I could have covered several beds! This photo is the one quilt I made for her. You can see more photos by clicking here.
What's included with standard price of $15 per shirt
- All shirts stabilized and cut to standard same size, either 15" or 12".
- 2" sashing
- 3" borders
- polyester batting
- Machine quilting with a meandering pattern in thread to blend.

T-shirt quilt FAQS
- How large of a quilt can I get from my shirts? ANSWER: With 9 shirts you can have a wall-hanging - 57"x57", With 30 shirts you can get a queen size quilt. Contact me for more.
- Can I choose the fabric for sashing? ANSWER: You can let me know what color you want and I will buy it. If you want to purchase the fabric yourself, contact me for details.
- What about the backing fabric? ANSWER: I can use a muslin (least expensive), cotton to match sashing, flannel or even fleece.
- What is a hangar sleeve? ANSWER: If you have a quilt that you want to hang on the wall, you can put a sleeve on the back. A dowel can be put through the sleeve and then hung on two nails on the wall - this is all invisible from the front.

In this quilt the t-shirts were stabilized and then most were cut to the standard 15" square. The black strips with gold squares where they cross are called the sashing. The quilt has batting and a backing of fleece. I then quilted it all together in a simple meandering pattern. All you need to send is your uncut t-shirts - laundered without fabric softener.
